In the quiet midcentury town of Bayport, Frank and Joe Hardy, the sons of renowned private detective Fenton Hardy, accidentally uncover a string of robberies across town, including the theft of a jalopy belonging to their school chum Chet Morton! The investigation leads them straight up to the old Tower Mansion, owned by wealthy curmudgeon Hurd Applegate, where $40,000 worth of jewels and securities have been stolen. Will the Hardys solve the mystery and return the stolen items?
The House on the Cliff (1927) – 5/5
Frank and Joe Hardy assist their father in uncovering a coastal drug smuggling ring operating right inside Bayport! But during the course of the investigation, Fenton Hardy disappears! The sleuthing takes the boys up to a spooky old house looming over a cliff on Barmet Bay as the element of danger is around every corner: sudden rock slides, ransacked homes, trap doors, grenade explosions, boat chases, nighttime espionage, and an eerie seacave landing like something straight out of an old swashbuckling pulp pirate adventure. Can the Hardys solve this mystery and escape with their lives?
The Secret of the Old Mill (1927) – 5/5
The Hardy Boys track down a counterfeiting ring in Bayport! The boys follow a trail of clues from the train station to their chum Chet Morton’s house where they discover a recent real estate deal in which the old mill property at the far edge of town was sold to a mysterious out-of-town company. Chet Morton buys a microscope and the boys lead a daring nighttime raid on the company. But can they stop the counterfeiting ring from perpetrating more fraud in Bayport?
