Reviewing the Mission Impossible Series (1996-Present)

Based on the 1960s espionage television show of the same name, the brainchild of scriptwriter Bruce Geller, the series was revived as a modern Tom Cruise action flick in 1996. Since then, the franchise has managed to remain relevant for the first few films but it has since evolved into the essential action series of our time with each new installment offering ever greater live-action stunts, bucking the trend of standard sterile CGI green screens which unfortunately dominate contemporary Hollywood.

My Ranking of the Mission Impossible Series

  1. Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol (2011)
  2. Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation (2015)
  3. Mission: Impossible – Fallout (2018)
  4. Mission: Impossible III (2006)
  5. Mission: Impossible (1996)
  6. Mission: Impossible 2 (2000)
